With school in session, it’s time to spruce up your homework desk with these adorable DIY unicorn flower pots. Need a little encouragement? Look no further than your new sparkly friend. These little unicorns also make great gifts for all your barn buddies. In a barn full of horses, be a unicorn!Â
Materials
â—† 4″ terra cotta pots
◆ White paint (acrylic or spray paint)
â—† Black Sharpie
â—† Pink acrylic paint
â—† Paint brush or round sponge
â—† Colored craft foamÂ
â—† Decorative flowers
â—† Super glue or a hot glue gun
â—† Potting soil
â—† Flowers or plant of your choice (for these examples, we used succulents)
Directions
1. Paint your pots white. If using spray paint, ask an adult for help. It will take multiple coats to make the pots completely white.
2. Once dry, use a Sharpie to draw eyes on your unicorn and pink paint to add cheeks. You can use either a round sponge brush or a paint brush to make the unicorn cheeks.Â
3. Cut out pieces of foam to make the unicorn horn and ears. Use glue to attach the ears and horn to the inside of the pot. If using a hot glue gun, ask an adult for help.
Tip: Pinch the ends of the pink part of the ear together and add glue to make them curve and look more realistic.
4. Using glue, attach decorative flowers to your pot to give your unicorn a cute flower crown.
5. Once the glue has set or dried, place your succulent in your unicorn pot. Use potting soil to fill in any openings.
6. Place your new unicorn succulent on your desk and enjoy!
