  1. Can I Get There by Candlelight? also by Jean Slaughter Doty is one of my favorites from childhood. It’s such a cool story with a plot one doesn’t always find in horse books! Highly recommend!

  2. Darken; The Scaredy-Cat Champion and it’s sequel, Darken: In Good Company are two books that should be on your list. The true story of the most unusual horse.
